SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

·         Maintain a neat and professional appearance with a properly cleaned uniform.

·         Greet guests warmly, politely and in a timely manner once seated.  Speak to guests with enthusiasm at all times.

·         Be prepared to answer questions about menu items and food preparation techniques and be prepared to make suggestions about special menu items. 

·         Understand order taking systems to be able to clearly, accurately and quickly covey guest orders to kitchen

·         Deliver food and beverage to tables in an efficient manner following appropriate table service techniques. Ensure that food is presented to guests as ordered and according to restaurant quality standards.

·         Be available to guests to assist with any needs, corrections or additional items desired during service.  Understand when guests are unsatisfied with a meal and how to handle the situation. 

·         Be able to determine when guests have finished meals, clearing tables in an efficient manner following appropriate table service techniques.

·         Ability to safely operate restaurant equipment including, but not limited to coffee makers, refrigeration, juice machines, toasters and other basic kitchen equipment and appliances, etc.

·         Handle and communicate special orders and guest complaints in a professional manner.  Share information with customers about the status of their orders.  Have a basic understanding of common food allergies and communicate these issues to the kitchen to ensure diner safety.

·         Complete side work as assigned (resetting tables, stocking supplies, cleaning, etc.)

·         Maintain food safety, service station and personal cleanliness and sanitation standards as required by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services and OSHA, as well as general maintenance and upkeep of dining room/restaurant.

·         Know who to notify in case of broken equipment or unsafe/unsanitary conditions.

·         Must be able to manually handle/lift/carry product up to 60 pounds between knee and shoulders.

·         Must have bilateral fine manipulation of both hands which may be repetitive for entire shift.

·         Must be vertically mobile working in limited space for entire shift.

Compensation: $23 - $25 an hour, depending on experience, plus bonus equaling 7% of wages earned.

Experience: Prior short order breakfast and baking experience is required.  Serve Safe certified a plus.

JOB SUMMARY:

Prepare high-quality breakfast dishes for our guests daily. The Breakfast Cook will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking and presenting dishes, and maintaining a clean and organized work area, as well as caring for inventory control and placing food orders multiple times a week. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

*        Must be eligible to work in the United States of America.

*        Minimum of 1 years as a cook in a high volume or fine dining kitchen.  A work history that includes working in seasonal operations for multiple seasons is a plus.

*        Ability to communicate in English, both orally and written, with guests and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.

*        Strong mathematical abilities in order to determine and track inventory and to understand controls and menu costing.

*        Thorough understanding of food safety, food handling, food storage, and kitchen sanitation requirements of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services and OSHA, as well as common food allergies.

*        Previous leadership experience.  Knowledge that the respect of peer and staff is earned, not demanded.

*        Ability to understand verbal directions, as well as written menus, recipes, labels on foods and chemicals, and other workplace safety signage. 

*        Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.

*        Ability to change activity frequently and work with constant interruptions.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Members of our Housekeeping Team work together to guarantee our guests clean spaces which will exceed their expectations. Working alone or with a partner, each Housekeeper is responsible for the cleanliness of guest rooms, hallways, activity areas, and public spaces on the property. Major responsibilities include servicing accommodations according to property procedures, replacing bed linens and supplying guest room amenities as well as end of shift duties such as stocking housekeeping carts and closets. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work without constant direct supervision.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain a neat and professional appearance with a properly cleaned uniform.
• Using provided supplies, clean and maintain guest rooms and public spaces. This includes, but is not limited to making beds, changing bed linens, cleaning bathrooms, supplying amenities, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, washing windows, replacing light bulbs, folding linens, as well as removing dirty linens, towels, garbage and recycling, all with attention to detail and to the standards set by property management.
• Must work with a variety of cleaning chemicals, following appropriate directions and in accordance with OSHA and State of Maine regulations.
• Must be able to push cleaning cart with supplies and equipment on both inside and outside surfaces. Work with colleagues to keep storage areas cleaned and supplied.
• Greet guests warmly and politely, using discretion to avoid disturbing guests in rooms or public spaces. Understand how everything operates in guest rooms (climate control, fireplaces, fans, lighting, etc) and be able to explain operation to our guests.
• Responsible for security of any room or supply closet keys, as well as for respecting the personal property and privacy of guests while working in guest rooms.
• Be prepared to answer basic questions about the property, activities, etc., or know where to refer guests for answers.
• Work with other members of the Housekeeping Team to ensure that guest's need are continually met. Make front desk staff aware of any special needs so that notes can be made for future visits.
• Handle and communicate guest requests, special needs, guest room or public space maintenance issues and guest complaints in a professional manner.
• Label and submit all lost and found items according to property procedures.
• Understand personal sanitation, the use of personal protective equipment and how to handle unsanitary linens, bodily fluids, etc. Be aware of ways to prevent personal injury from improper reaching, lifting, stretching and carrying.
• Know who to notify in case of broken equipment or unsafe/unsanitary conditions.
